Michele's courage to come forward with her and her family's story will save lives。 It's a Christ-centered book on how some people can use the word of God for evil and to hide behind the text that would never defend abuse of a wife, kids, or family。 Michele's courage to come forward with her and her family's story will save lives。 It's a Christ-centered book on how some people can use the word of God for evil and to hide behind the text that would never defend abuse of a wife, kids, or family。 。。。more

Michele's book not only reaches to the abused but to the Church and the family and friends who are unsure what to do to help the abused。 She shines light in what a true marriage should look like and the roles of both the husband and wife。 This book needs to be in every Pastor's hands, every church member, and every Christian marriage counselor。 Michele has already reached so many lives and I know this book will reach so many more。 Michele's book not only reaches to the abused but to the Church and the family and friends who are unsure what to do to help the abused。 She shines light in what a true marriage should look like and the roles of both the husband and wife。 This book needs to be in every Pastor's hands, every church member, and every Christian marriage counselor。 Michele has already reached so many lives and I know this book will reach so many more。 。。。more

Hope from HarmI know Michele and I know her ex-husband。 I know her children。 At one point I considered ourselves to be close friends, spending times with them at church, church activities, in people’s homes, enjoying meals together, watching ballgames, going to school functions and most incredibly, being in her home and they in mine。 Yet I didn’t know any of this。 I, as others did, had my red flags。 I heard things that made me pause。 I remained, however, charmed and confused by the man she was m Hope from HarmI know Michele and I know her ex-husband。 I know her children。 At one point I considered ourselves to be close friends, spending times with them at church, church activities, in people’s homes, enjoying meals together, watching ballgames, going to school functions and most incredibly, being in her home and they in mine。 Yet I didn’t know any of this。 I, as others did, had my red flags。 I heard things that made me pause。 I remained, however, charmed and confused by the man she was married to。 This demonstrates how convincing the lie pervasive in the lives of the abusive and the abused。 Michele and I have reconnected since she has left her destructive marriage and received healing。 I know her work。 I know her recovery。 I know her healing。 In her recovery, she has done all and more of the tough, exhausting demands required。 I have seen that and witnessed the writing of her horrid marriage memoir。I warn you, it is brutal to read what she experienced。 It is devastating to know now of her sons’ abuse by their father。 But as I flinched and cried reading her accounts, my heart hurt the most that she felt so trapped in her marriage that she felt she would always misunderstood so she was convinced she could not confide in any person。 As you’ll see, that meant even, or especially, the church was not to a safe haven。 That’s why Michele wrote the last half of her book。 It is a very needed resource for individuals, for churches, for ministers and pastors and church leaders and for counselors, like myself, who need to understand in a more empathetic and educated way the horror of life with an abuser in the family。 Michele has done her homework, both through educating herself on appropriate measures to help abused women and their families, and also by studying the Holy Scriptures to know all of God’s teachings on marriage, divorce, abuse, and healing and recovery from abuse。 This book, because of its authenticity and its thorough examination of abuse needs to be put in the hands of all church leaders。 May God bless you as you read this woman’s life story。 May you receive healing if you need that and inspiration if you will help others like Michel and her children。 。。。more
